HBM & NVMS Australia - New Strain Gauge Seminar

Because of the high demand for monitoring stress & fatigue on structures, companies are forced to gain more knowledge about strain gauge mounting techniques and field measurement.
To support this technology, NVMS together with HBM (Hottinger Baldwin Messtechnik) a world leader in strain gauge technology, run a strain gauge seminar in Perth.
This course will provide the following:

Know-how and competence in Strain gauge technology

  • Theory of strain gauges, including latest fibre optics varieties
  • Strain gauge installation techniques
  • Connection to an amplifier and taking a measurement
  • Techniques, post-processing data analysis, export and reporting using Catman® & Glyph XE

Practical hints and different types of Strain gauges

  • How to prepare the work piece
  • Selection of suitable strain gauges and accessories
  • Differences between 2,3 & 4 wire strain gauges
  • Rosette installations
  • The right accessories for different environments

Demonstrate the measurement chain from Sensor to Report

  • how to setup a measurement device to take data and create a report.

The Course Structure

This one (1) day course is run from our training facility in West Leederville. The training area will be divided into workplaces, each with its own set of tools and equipment. A workplace can accommodate between one and three delegates from each organisation or company. The cost for the first delegate is $450+GST, followed by an additional cost of $175+GST for each subsequent delegate from the same company. The course includes a DAK1 strain gauge starter kit for you to take away (one per company).

Training Facility
